A Tribute to the Summer
To start....Yes, it's been forever since I've updated this blog, and it feels just yesterday that I was studying before finals, needed a break and decided to spend far too much time creating this blog. But enough of that, it's time to report the ups, the downs, the beautiful, the ugly, the obscure, and commonplace amenities of the summer.
It all began rather boring, The first day I got home, didn't really talk to many people, but Got in touch with Nick Reczkowski, how weird, ended up also seeing more people I haven't seen since high school. It was weird and I thought the rest of my summer was going to be similar......Nope, never saw those guys again.
The month of June sucked, I spent 3 days a week traveling into NYC late in the evening to take a Theology course. I learned a lot, met a LOT of interesting people, and it really made me love the east coast even more, I think I just deal with the people on the east coast much better than I do with the Midwest, it almost feels like a different country. But anyway, I did manage to spend many a weekend having small get togethers of alcohol and video games with George, Zac, and JR. Those 3 guys helped me this summer to realize what it means to have great friends and I hope that we will party till the end of time.
But anyway, as the summer went on, and the weekends passed, our parties got better, we had more people come over, and we set up my barn for beerpong and chilling out. My back patio provided the most insightful and thoughtful conversations of the summer. We'd get drunk and sit out there for hours to reminisce of days gone by, tell stories of college, and of course: talk about people who weren't there.
After I finished my Theology class (In which I got an A!....Now to do that with engineering), I got a job with the same company I did last year (made myself 3 grand this summer :-D) and of course kept the weekend parties a must.
But I'm gonna get straight to it, the best part of my summer was the last couple weeks, especially the last weekend of the summer. In these fateful last weeks, I saw Billeter, and Jessica, people who have been slaving away in DC for the man, hehe, but some of my greatest friends whom I had such a hard time getting a chance to hang out with this summer. I got to see them, it was great, we drank, we talked, we had fun, we even played some music.
The Climax of my summer: SoaP
Now for those of you who don't know, Sammy J made a movie called Snakes on a Plane, and no one thought it would be good at all, even myself. But it sounded so ridiculous that Jr, Zac, George, my brother, and myself all decided to go see it. It turned out to be the best movie experience I've ever had, it was so much fun and I felt so happy the next few days.
But I'm not just about to attribute all this happiness to SoaP, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night were all drinking nights. I had finished my job and just wanted to party with my friends. I told all the people I knew about my parties and a ton of people came. So much that we ran out of booze both Friday and Saturday night. But O, was it worth it, so much fun, so many laughs. Those days I saw friends I hadn't seen in so long and I enjoyed every moment.
High points of the summer:
-The hot tub, o yeah, good times.
-The trip to the Shore, drunk at noon for the win.
-Snakes on a Fucking Plane
-LJ driving my car intoxicated and I didn't know till the day after, you are so lucky.
-The friendships renewed and the memories made.
-Getting hit on by a former Miss teen Pennsylvania (well at least it felt like that)
Low Points of the summer:
-Getting rejected by said girl
-The email fight with my Fraternity Advisor (I still think he was completely out of line)
-LJ driving my car intoxicated....
-so much beer pong that we kinda ruined the ping pong table (Do'h!)
But if there is one thing this summer has taught me is that I have some of the greatest friends in the world and I can never forget them, the memories will keep me smiling from days to come. All I can say is that I hope I don't get an internship somewhere shitty next summer, because I wanna come back to my favorite state and party with my favorite people.
Today, I raise a drink to the Following people:
JR, George, Zac, Billeter, Cohen, Scott, Walsh, Erwin, Lisa, Allie, Allison, Ali, Lemor, Jessica, Gabbert, Jess, Carolyn, Dugan, April, LJ, Sean
Without you people, and many others, my Summer would have sucked, you made it great, I'll see ya next year.
<3 Peace
